We had a lot of fun on blog talk radio last night doing quickie readings on past life and karma (and don't forget, my March special saves you $8 on a karmic tarot card reading). For those of you who were waiting on the line and didn't get through, I'm sorry. I'd love to read for you, and you can take advantage of my special offer, or you can wait until next time. I'm sure I'll be back in the proverbial soon.
The last couple of callers didn't get what they wanted to hear, and I felt bad for them, but here's the deal. I'm not going to lie and tell you what you want to hear, just because it's what you want. The first of these two ladies was Cathy. She was having issues at work with a superior's work being sloppy and wanted to know what she could do about it. Everything in the tarot screamed, "Stay in your own lane, let your own integrity speak for itself." Apparently that message didn't gel with her though, and I could feel her getting frustrated with the reading.
If you think about it, though, no one can control what anyone else does. She didn't want her supervisor's work to reflect badly on her. It can't. The end. If Cathy minds her own business, stays in her lane, and makes sure that she's doing the best that she can with what she had to work with, she simply can't look bad. One of two things is going to happen. Either the supervisor will be seen for doing shoddy work and be dealt with, or Cathy will find somewhere else, where she doesn't have to worry about the integrity of her upline.
All any of us can do is stay in our own lane. I once heard a tale that there are only three types of business in life, your business, my business and God's business. Now, God is God and he can look after his own business, so that leaves your business and my business. If you're looking into my business, who's looking after your business?!
The secret to success is staying in your own lane.
The last caller of the night was a case of unrequited love. She was so hung up on Simon, but he had gone off with someone else. Everything in the cards screamed that it was over. Everything in the cards screamed that it was time to accept that she wasn't a priority to him, and to let it go. Everything in the cards told her to move on, that there was someone out there for her who wanted to be with her as much as she wanted to be with him, and who would cherish her and respect her and not run off with someone else. Both the boss and I told her to let it go.
"I'm not gonna do that," was her reply.
Like Cathy, I can't make you do anything you don't want to do. That's not my job, that's not what the tarot does. People come to me to read their cards for them, and that's what I do. Not everyone is going to like the same film, want the same food, or resonate to the same truth.
At the end of the day, you all have free will. Like da Boss said at the beginning of the radio show, it's free to ask for a reading, and it's free to be offended by it. Your life is yours to create. If you want my help, awesome, that's what I'm here to do! And if you don't want my help, that's okay, too. I still wish you the best, and pray that you'll find the happiness you seek.
... but what do I know, I'm just an old hippie.
