And now once again for your cerebral pleasure, here are the Monday Musings—which did not get posted last week because life happened. I've returned to the colorful images of the Eight Coins Tattoo Tarot by Lana Zellner this week. This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite decks. Even after nearly 40 years of working with this stuff, these cards are teaching me new angles and insights—and that's not a bad thing!
Monthly forecast? Weekly forecast? Daily forecast? It's up to you, you know the drill! Pick the one that calls to you for a mini-reading for the week ahead, or read them all as a story-telling spread. Your reading, Your call. I'm just the messenger.. I'm still offering private readings, too, so if you want to know a little more about what the universe has in store for you, hit me up. "I'm here to help."
Left: The King of Wands
If you've chosen this card as your card for the week, then the message for you is that you need to focus. You've got the vision, you've got the potential, but a dream without action is destined to remain a wish. How much do you want it? How hard are you prepared to work for it? The walls are not there to keep you out. The hurdles are not there to trip you up. These things are there to make you prove how badly you want to succeed, and keep the others who don't burn as passionately as you do out of your way, so you can keep your eyes on your goals without being distracted by them or in competition with them. Just make sure that your plans are realistic, and don't be scared to ask for help when you need it. Stay in your lane; this is the week to go places!
Middle: The Nine of Pentacles
This card appeared not too long ago, and if this is your card it is showing you that yes, the success is there, but at what cost? There's nothing wrong with being the proverbial 'self-made man' (or woman), there's nothing wrong with having opulence and wealth, but this card is asking you what are you prepared to sacrifice to get it? Is the trade off worth it? There's no right or wrong answer. Just remember that high success often brings with it more responsibility and greater expectations. If your lifestyle is making you feel cluttered or trapped, then the message from this card is that it may be time to reevaluate your priorities.
Right: The Ten of Cups
This is one of the most uplifting cards in the entire deck, and if you chose this card, it's time to sit back and enjoy your accomplishments. There should be some sunny days and smooths sailing ahead for you, at least for the meanwhile. It's time to slow down to the speed of life and to enjoy the simple pleasures; a relaxing cuppa, a warm hug, a job well done. It's also time to share that happiness with others, particularly the ones who were there when perhaps the days weren't so sunny, or when you needed someone to be there for you. Remember, in many traditions it is not the person who has the most who is the richest, but the person who has given the most away. If you have more than you need, build a longer table, not a higher wall.
