What is that Restless Energy?!

4/19/2018

You're on fire one way or another, aren't you? Either things are changing—positively or negatively—or something is happening to keep you on your toes. You're restless, or putting up with the restless energy of those around you. What gives?

Blame Uranus. Yeah, I know. Astrologers never get tired of Uranus jokes. However, this time it's not really a joking matter. Uranus takes something like 84 years to make an orbit around your birth chart, and at the moment it's leaving Aries and entering into Taurus. The Sun is also in Aries just now, preparing to launch into Taurus in less than a week. This means that, unless you're a toddler, this is the very last time to make the most of this Sun / Uranus conjunction in Aries.

"That's all well and good," I hear you say (because I'm psychic like that), "But what does it mean?" Well, any Sun / Uranus conjunction is always a time of change and excitement. You may be set free from something that's been holding you back, or perhaps you're less inhibited than usual. Aries always brings energy to any alignment taking place in its sign. The Sun is your personality, and Uranus represents the unpredictable, and the unexpected.

This alignment also has the potential to get you thinking outside the box as far as your philosophies on life and your personal belief systems are concerned. Uranus is thought to be the higher vibration of Saturn, and even though Uranus is nothing like the Old Goat when it comes to routine, they are both stubborn and willful. It's important that you tap into some of Saturn's discipline (which is retrograde in it's own sign of Capricorn at the moment) if you're going to make the most of this conjunction.

Pick your battles wisely these next couple three days. Stay open-minded, don't adhere to something just because you can; see whether it's really going to benefit you or not. You may be accident prone, or throw caution to the wind when you really should be acting more responsibly, and that won't do you any favors in the long run. There's a difference between assertiveness and aggression; the latter may have far-reaching repercussions, not all of them working to your advantage. This transit will be over in a few days, but the consequences from it will linger far longer.

Getting a Good Reading

3/30/2015

I've been doing readings on and off for over 30 years, and trust me, I've been asked it all--from what color socks should I wear to my interview, to what's going to happen next week on 'Days of Our Lives.' Sometimes it's hard not to be a smartass in those situations, because who the hell pays money to an astrologer to find out what is going to happen in make-believe? There are always going to be 'those' people, and yeah, dealing with them is just part of the gig. For everyone else, though, here's some tips on getting a good reading from your astrologer, tarot reader, or other intuitive.

1) Know what you're buying.
You wouldn't go to a gynecologist with a toothache, so don't go to an astrologer wanting palmistry. Yes, many readers are diverse (for example, my fortes are astrology, tarot, runes, and crystals). You may find that a palm reader also reads cards, or that an astrologer also does numerology, but find this out before you make your appointment or pay your money. That will save both you and your reader time, money, and frustration. A reputable reader will soon admit that he or she cannot do what you're asking of them. That's why it's important to choose someone of trustworthy character. Go with someone recommended to you, or ask for references and credentials.

2) Don't sabotage yourself.
If the only thing you want to hear is the winning numbers to the next Hoosier Lottery, you're probably going to be mad at your reader when he or she does not tell them to you. If we could do that, do you think we'd be working for a living?! Don't waste your money or the reader's time. Now, if you want to know how to draw more abundance into your life, or ways that you can improve your finances, that's different. We can do that. Miracles are someone else's domain.

3) Avoid asking 'what will I do?'
Hmm, well, what will you do? Your free will is your birthright. The planets influence you. The tarot gives you a glimpse as to what might happen. You could ask 'Am I going to marry Bobby,' and everything could point to yes--but you could leave the reading thinking, "I'll show her and her predictions," dump Bobby, join a convent, and make your reader the biggest liar on the planet! Reputable readers are  not going to tell you what you're going to do. They will tell you the influences around you, but what you do with that information is entirely your decision.

4) Be a participant, not an observer.
So many clients will sit there and play 'test the psychic.' They don't want to reveal anything, but that's like going into the doctor's office and playing 'guess what's wrong with me. If your reader is asking you for more information, it is to help them to better help you. They'll take your answer and look into your chart or your cards or whatever, to bring you back clarity and insight. If you want to play 'test the psychic,' visit the seaside fortune tellers, not your astrologer or professional intuitive.

5) Keep an open mind.
You've gone to that reader because he or she is experienced astrology or tarot or whatever, and you have questions about your life. If you have a preconceived idea as to how things are supposed to unfold, then you're shooting yourself in the foot before you start. There are three participants in your reading; you, your reader, and the energy that is created. That energy won't flow freely if you're trying to discipline or control it because you're not being told what you want to hear. If you're absolutely certain that your ex is going to leave his new wife and family and return to you before the next full moon, then you don't need a reading, so why even ask?

A bit of preparation on your part will go a long way to getting a good reading from your chosen psychic, astrologer, or cartomancer (fancy way of saying card reader). Find one with whom you resonate and with whom you feel comfortable, find one who uses the tools you request (you've no idea how many times I've seen people go to an astrologer, and then complain that they got an astrology reading rather than having their fortune told), be open minded, know what you want to ask, and be receptive to the answer.

Deja Vu and Past Lives, too...

3/29/2015

Past lives... Have you ever felt that you've been here before? Chances are you have.  Maybe it's been deja vu, maybe you feel you have actual memories from another place or time, or maybe you've met someone for the first time, and instantly recognized them as someone you know. All of this and more can be indicative of a previous incarnation with that soul. After all, the laws of physics tell us that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. If we believe, then, that the essence of our being is energy, that it is energy that animates the physical body and gives it life, then it stands to reason that our souls cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. Heavy stuff, right?

So, what if there was a way to know who you were--or more importantly, who you were with? So many people write to me about their soul mate, their twin flame, their twin ray, their kindred spirit, and they want to know what the connection was in a past life. That's where this chart can help. It's not a synastry--that is a comparison of two charts for this lifetime. It's not a regression--that's an individual chart, looking at the factors that indicate lessons from past lives that are brought into this life, so that you can either teach or continue to learn. Nope, a Past Life Composite Chart takes a look at how your souls may have interacted in previous incarnations. It takes a very intricate and detailed look at what you may have learned, where your strengths and your weaknesses may lie, what challenges you faced, what your life may have been like, and how that all brought you to finding each other again in this incarnation. It's pretty heavy stuff!

If you have a soul mate, if you know your twin flame, if you want to find out more about the past life connection with your kindred spirit, then this is where you need to be looking. This is where I combine my nearly four decades of reading charts with over thirty years of working with disembodied beings and past life regression to bring you the very best of both worlds. Date, time and place for BOTH people is absolutely essential. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll always reply--eventually!

Love,
The Smartasstrologer
