Where the hell is summer? Or, perhaps more pressing, where is the time flying? Seems like it was only yesterday that my friend and I were talking about walking Hadrians Wall, and now in less than 3 months we'll be on our trek. Ooh er! Today's Monday Musings uses the Crystal Ally Cards, by Naisha Ahsian. One reason I like this deck is because if a particular stone card speaks to you, it's quite possible you could get that stone and carry it with you as a reminder of the message or the lesson. It's also good chance to plug a very special offer for a crystal reading, which is only going to be available this time around until the 30th of June. What will this week bring to you? Monthly forecast? Weekly forecast? Daily forecast? It's up to you, you know the drill! Pick the one that calls to you, then read the reveal in the comments for a mini-reading for the week ahead, or read them all as a story-telling spread. Your reading, Your call. I'm just the messenger.. I'm still offering private readings, too, so if you want to know a little more about what the universe has in store for you, hit me up. "I'm here to help." Left: Prayer, Fulgurite. I'm not surprised this one appeared with the storms that we've been having! I've got to admit that fulgurite is one of my favorite things on the planet. It's a glass tube that is formed when lightning hits sand. How cool is that? If this is your card for this week, it's calling you to weather the storm. Don't fight the forces of nature. Let the things that are happening in your life mold you and change you. Use your energy to rise with the storm. Remember that your words are carried on your breath and your breath gives you life, so speak your ideas into being and then follow them up by taking action to make them manifest. A prayer without action is just a wish. Now is not the time to wimp out. There are some things you can only learn in a storm. Let it clear the air and empower you. Middle: Sugilite, Dreams Before you were even born, your heart's desires were placed deep in your psyche to lead you to your highest happiness, you greatest success, and your deepest fulfillment. The discord you experience in your life happens when you are out of harmony with those desires. If you chose this card for the week then it is asking you to slow down to the speed of life and get back in touch with those dreams. You may not be able to walk away from everything that brings you down just yet, but you can take steps right here, right now, to take you closer to what you want to be doing, so you don't feel quite so stuck in what you have to do. Start doing what you love, little and often, and let the universe know that you're listening. You will not be disappointed, but—as I said above—you have to harness those desire and be prepared to act on them, or they'll be destined to stay a wish, tantalizingly just out of reach. Right: Spirit, Danburite
In a crystal reading, danburite signifies joy and celebration. If this is your card for the upcoming week then it is asking you to find reasons to be cheerful, part one, two, and three. It's a message that there is always something to be thankful for, always a kernel of light in every situation, even if you have to wade through the mud to see it. It's asking you to look for what cannot be seen, which may sound like an oxymoron, but it is there and you will find it. Start to see yourself as the co-creator of your own reality, rather than a victim of your circumstances. Try keeping a gratitude journal, and practicing random acts of kindness. When you make a conscious effort to look on the bright side, you start to train the neuroreceptors in your brain to seek out information to support that decision. Start right here, right now, and find three things to be thankful for. Danburite reminds you that, when you change your thoughts, you really can change your life. Monday Musings—and on time this week, too! Did you miss me last week? No one said anything... Today's deck is the Eight Coins Tattoo Tarot by Lana Zellner. This is rapidly becoming one of my go-to decks. The art always reveals a new angle of interpretation for me, and I find that very useful when I'm using the cards to have a conversation with myself. Things are starting to really busy themselves here at The Keep, with me making it a point to get some studio time in every day, as well as doing some writing, and finding time to amble through the village and surrounding countryside in preparation for Hadrian's Wall, which is rapidly approaching! "I'm here to help." Left: Seven of Wands It may not be any surprise to you guys that we're heading into another Mercury retrograde. Now, you'd think that we'd be used to these by now, after all, they happen around three times a year. However, there's always something that seems to cause twitterpations when Mercury is doing his backward dance through the skies. He's in his shadow period at the moment, and this means that those of you who are sensitive to this kind of stuff may be starting to get your knickers in a knot already (those who know me know yes, I resemble that remark). If this is your card for the week it's showing you that the confrontations and complications that a retrograde Mercury have to offer may already be creating some discomfort in your life. Do not back down from what you know to be right. Do not walk away from what you know to be true. Do not buckle when someone challenges you. As the Desiderata says, "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here." Of course, so does everyone else, so don't forget that when you're facing the storm and holding your ground! Sometimes the fight just isn't worth it—but if it is, don't let a lack of confidence steal your thunder. Middle: Eight of Cups This card has spoken to me quite loudly these last few weeks. It keeps making regular appearances in my daily tarot meditations that I do for myself. If this is your card for the upcoming week, it is a sure message from the universe to start seeking more. Do not settle for adequate when you can have fantastic. Walk away from what isn't working, no matter how good it may look, for something better is just around the corner and you have to make room for it in your life. Yes, it may mean some time in the wilderness, but that's how you find your path. Yes, it may mean that you spend some time alone, but you don't have to be lonely. It's time to get real, to leave whatever is standing in your way behind you, and take that leap of faith. Right: Queen of Cups
The suit of cups always represents water and the sea of emotions to me. The Queen is a wise and compassionate woman, she is the mum who always had cookies and the grandma who always had hugs, and the auntie who threatened to throw flour on you if you insisted on misbehaving in her kitchen! She's creative and intuitive and if this is the card you picked, it's a message that you need to tap into your intuition, for it is stronger than you think, and use your creativity, for you are more ingenious than you realize. Feeling stuck, feeling inertia, feeling that 'something' needs to change? The Queen is assuring you that you have what it takes to make those changes. Quieten your mind and open your heart and let the energy flow. You'll realize that the solution to the issue lies in the same bed as the problem. Monday Musings! Today's deck is Caitlin Matthews's Celtic Wisdom Oracle. How can you look at those orange cards and be blue—even if it is Monday! I don't know where you are, but here around The Keep and the Kilndom, we're having amazing weather. It's balmy and pleasant and good for long walks to prepare for the Hadrian's Wall Hike, but I do have to admit I'm getting impatient for swimming pool days! Last week saw some action in many ways; walking, glazing, cleaning out the studio, cleaning out the garage, and more. This week is a busy one, too, lots to do, the days are long and enticing me to be productive. What will they bring to you? Monthly forecast? Weekly forecast? Daily forecast? It's up to you, you know the drill! Pick the one that calls to you, then read the reveal in the comments for a mini-reading for the week ahead, or read them all as a story-telling spread. Your reading, Your call. I'm just the messenger.. I'm still offering private readings, too, so if you want to know a little more about what the universe has in store for you, hit me up. "I'm here to help." Left: The Courtship of Skill You've been waiting for your ship to come in and only ever met with the tied, but if this is your card for the upcoming week, then that luck is about to change. This is a card that represents rewards for your efforts. It's more than wishes come true; this is something you've worked for and you've earned and you're finally seeing the results. It's not time to rest on your laurels, though, oh no. If anything says 'keep going,' this card does. Yes, you're seeing success, but there's more to come. Don't stop just because you're onto a good thing! Middle: The Keeper The Keeper does just that; he keeps order. He's the ruler, the leader, the authoritarian. If you chose this card, then it is telling you that it is not time to be a maverick or to step too far out of your comfort zone this week. It's a time for keeping things in an orderly fashion, to keep an eye on the things—and the people—that matter to you, and to stay strong in your sense of self-worth and self-assurance. Stay in your lane, for haters are always gonna hate and losers are always gonna lose until they decide not to. You can't govern their actions, but you have absolute control over the way you respond to them. Right: The Quest of Battle If you've been worried about something, if you've been thinking that things couldn't get any worse, well, you're probably right. This card shows you that yes, life sucks sometimes, but your track record of getting through the suck zone is 100% so far, so don't blot your copy book. As a weekly card, the Quest of Battle is asking you to pause, acknowledge how lousy you feel, forget the Law of Attraction and just be real. When you realize that life doesn't always play fair and you're more resilient than you think you are, suddenly everything does not seem to be so gloomy. There's a season for everything, and whatever sucky thing you're going through has its season, so let it be what it is, but remember that you will never be stuck there unless you choose to be—and that would just be silly, wouldn't it?! ![]() |
